Retreat Follow-Up Discussion

In this section of our blog, we will continue to have discussions about issues raised at our annual MCH Leadership Retreat (Leadership, Legacy, and Community)

  1. Dear Retreat Attendees:

First, thank you for attending the UIC MCH Retreat this year! We hope you enjoyed it and had a chance to network with other MCH professionals.

Second, we wanted to inform you of a few items:
    - We have posted some of the slide show presentations on our website at http://www.uic.edu/sph/mch/mch_leadership_conference.htm.

    - At the end of Dr. Kegan’s session we discussed the field of MCH and how to integrate the life course model (challenges, assumptions, experiments we could implement). If you are willing can you share your notes with us that you took during that portion of the session? You can send them to Jaime Klaus at jaimkl@uic.edu.

    - We provided an opportunity to meet with a life coach at the retreat. If you were able to take advantage of this opportunity, we hope you found it extremely valuable. The two coaches who provided coaching at the retreat were Hanna Cooper and Teri Conrad. If you are interested in coaching with Hanna or Teri and/or learning more about them here is their information:
o Hanna Cooper, MPH, CPCC, ACC/Leadership and Organizational Coaching & Public Health Coaching/ http://makingadifference.typepad.com/
o Teri Conrad, MBA, CPCC, ACC/The Winner Within, Inc./ http://www.thewinnerwithin.com/page/page/5059113.htm

    - The UIC MCH program also offers a 6 month coaching program for MCH professionals. 6-month, distance-based professional leadership development and coaching program that is designed to create a community-of-practice and also address the unique and individual leadership development and coaching needs of each participant. If you are interested you can contact Jaime Klaus at jaimkl@uic.edu or Kris Risley, the Continuing Education Director at kyrisley@uic.edu

    - Below please share your comments and thoughts about the retreat:
